Legendary Teacher Jim Hogan to Highlight 40 Days for Life Kickoff

Anyone who viewed the outstanding pro-life film Unplanned is familiar with the heroic folks at 40 Days for Life.  (Unplanned is currently to the top film onAmazon, so grab a copy and watch it again, or even purchase multiple copies and donate it to a Catholic or Christian school.)  But did you realize that there is a very active chapter of 40 Days forLife right here in Cleveland?  Well, it is time to get involved.

Plan to attend the KICKOFF of the 2019 Fall Campaign of prayer, fasting and peaceful vigil with an evening of prayer and fellowship.  The 2019 Fall Kickoff Rally will be held Tuesday, September 24 at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine, 21281 Chardon Road, Euclid in the St. Ann Dining Hall. The social begins at 7 PM with pizza and wings served.

The big news is that legendary teacher Jim Hogan will be giving the Keynote Address: "Pro-Life Apologetics for the Common Man."

James Hogan is a Catholic theology teacher with 36 years teaching experience, currently teaching at Saint Helen Church in Newbury.   He is the author of Crossways: FormingOurselves in the Mind of Christ from Alba House and Reel Parables: Life Lessonsfrom Popular Films from Paulist Press.  He also wrote Time Travel: At the Speed of Christ’s Light and Cross Training: An Introduction to Catholic Theology.  His latest book is Letters from Captain Catholic, which is a simple introduction to Catholic theology in a readable format.  (All available at Amazon.com.)

In addition to writing and speaking, Jim collects Pez Dispensers and is a self-described expert regarding Batman.  His greatest claim to fame is his beautiful wife Colleen and their five amazing children: Clare, Kate, Erin, Thomas and Meg.

Hogan is perhaps best known for his uncompromising courage in defense of the Catholic Faith.  A strong voice in support of the unborn and traditional marriage, Hogan has inspired hundreds of young men to embrace the truths of the Catholic faith and strive to live holy lives.  His positive impact on the Church will be carried on for years in the men he taught.

For many years, Hogan along with Marty Dybicz and the late Jim Skerl helped lead a local high school Theology Department that changed lives, instilled the Faith and inspired greatness.  They are greatly and sorely missed at their former high school by students and even more so the parents!
Thankfully, Hogan and Dybicz remain outspoken, unapologetically Catholic voices in the community for the truth, for the Faith and for innocent life.  And we are definitely looking forward to hearing Jim Hogan on Tuesday, September 24 at the kick off rally.

One final point.

Please start today...no need to wait for Kickoff.  Don't wait for orders from headquarters.

Today, you can say a Rosary for the Unborn and expectant mothers.

Today, you can begin fasting by giving something extra up.

On every Wednesday and Friday between 2 to 6 pm there are abortions going on at Preterm.  There is always someone out front praying, why not join him?

On most Saturdays you can attend a Latin Mass at 9 am at St, Elizabeth that is less than one mile away from Ohio's bigget abortion center - - Preterm.  Stop by Preterm before or after and say a Rosary.

Our amazing friends at Cleveland Right to Life are always looking for volunteers and there are countless ways to help.

If you ever find yourself wondering why someone else isn't doing more to end the scourge of abortion, look in the mirror and get to work.
