A classical K-12 Catholic academy in Lakewood offers students a rich education rooted in timeless truths.

More and more, parents are seeking alternatives to the standard, modern educational models. They see a world that has lost its way.  A world where traditional values are rejected, and society has grown increasingly rude and cold.

This growing desire - a search for something better, something more traditional, something timeless that truly works and delivers proven results - has sparked a nationwide movement, with more and more parents discovering the lasting value of classical Catholic academies.

Padre Pio Academy has been a pioneer in this movement, serving families in the Cleveland area for over 20 years. 

Long before classical Catholic education gained widespread attention, PPA was already nurturing students in joy and wonder - reading the good and great books, while inculcating the corporal and spiritual works of mercy: loving the poor, feeding the hungry, even sharing a simple smile.




Founded over 20 years ago by parents committed to an authentic Catholic education, Padre Pio Academy honors God as the source and summit of all that is good, true, and beautiful. Here, students learn to extol God’s greatness and pursue holiness through a life of virtue, nourished by God’s grace, the action of the Holy Spirit, and a vibrant prayer life.

The humble academy keeps tuition affordable so large families can send their children without financial burden. At the same time, PPA accepts no government funding, allowing it to remain free from government-imposed curriculum mandates like the Common Core. Instead, the academy offers a classical education that cultivates wisdom, virtue, goodness, and the discernment of truth.



To bridge the gap between tuition and the true cost of running the school, PPA relies on fundraising and generous donations from the community.  Great ideas like PPA, need great support from the community.  

Some generous folks who no longer care to support their own alma mater for various reasons, have discovered our feisty, faithful academy and adopted PPA as their own!  We welcome more such adoptions!  (We all know a guy like this, send him a link!) 

PPA's biggest fundraiser of the year - its annual virtual auction - coming soon! It kicks off on Friday, November 7, 2025, and runs through Monday, November 10, 2025.

New Cleveland Latin Mass Community Thrives at Historic St. Elizabeth Shrine on Buckeye

  The Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (ICKSP), a society of apostolic life within the Roman Catholic Church, is renowned for its commitment to the traditional Latin liturgy and the sanctification of priests. On October 1, 2023, the ICKSP arrived in Cleveland with the official opening of the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Shrine, celebrated with an inaugural Traditional Latin Mass.
